AI in School Lenzi

AI that does the typing, while your teachers stay in charge

Reading marks off paper, writing a comment for every learner, finding a figure in the fees records. The slow work of a term, done in minutes. Nothing the AI drafts is saved until a person has checked it.

Mark sheets read from paper

Most teachers still mark scripts by hand and write the marks on paper. Typing them in afterwards takes hours and brings its own mistakes. Here the paper is the input.

How it works

  1. Print the sheet. Choose the class, subject and exam. Every learner is printed on a numbered row, with a box for each digit.
  2. Fill it in with a pen. The teacher writes each mark in its boxes, or ticks Absent.
  3. Photograph or scan it. One picture a page, from any phone or a scanner. A stack of sheets from different classes can go up together.
  4. Check and save. The marks come back next to the photo. Anything unclear is marked in amber for a second look. Nothing is saved until the teacher presses Save.

Why it gets the right mark to the right learner

  • The AI never reads a name. Each learner is fixed to a row when the sheet is printed, so it only reads the row number and the digits.
  • A mark above the maximum for the exam is refused.
  • A mark far from the learner's earlier exam is flagged, in case a 7 was meant to be 70.
  • A mark that differs from one already saved shows both, and the teacher chooses.
  • A blank row never deletes a mark that was typed in some other way.

Report comments for the whole class

A short comment for every learner, drafted from their marks and grades. The class teacher reads each one, changes what they want, and saves. A class of sixty takes minutes rather than an evening.

Drafted for Nakato Grace, P5 Grace has worked hard this term and her mathematics has improved well. Keep it up.

A summary of each class

Two or three sentences on how a class did this term: where it is strong, where it needs help, and a word of encouragement. Written from the class results for the head teacher to edit.

Ask your school a question

Type a question the way you would ask the bursar, and get the answer from your school's own records in seconds. It can also open the page you need.

It only looks things up. It cannot record a payment, change a mark or enrol anybody, and each person sees only what they are allowed to see.

Which class owes the most fees? How much did we collect this week? What is Joshua Mukasa's balance? Who are the top five learners in P7? How was attendance in P3 this term? Take me to the trial balance.

Who sees your school's information

The AI is Claude, made by Anthropic. To read a mark sheet, the picture is sent to it to be read, and that picture shows your learners' names. That is why mark sheet reading stays off until your school chooses to turn it on in Settings. The other AI features send only what they need: results and first names for a comment, and the records a question asks about.
